About this workshop
This is a kids' workshop where you will learn how to create a silver stamped ring. You'll learn to measure and cut the silver strip to your correct finger size, then stamp either symbols, letters or numbers into the silver. After moulding a round shape, you'll solder it with the flame torch, sand, file, and then blacken (antique) the symbols. The final technique is to polish the surface, ready to wear your hand made Jewellery piece. A piece of copper is used first, to practice and test your stamping technique. You'll replicate your practiced design in a piece of flat silver strip to create your final silver stamped ring. Workshops are held in Yvette's home studio in Tarrawanna. The address will be sent to you via email once you make your booking. Cost is $100 AUD per person. This is the cost for a 1/2 day workshop which includes an information pack, the silver strip and the use of Yvette's tools and equipment. Water and small snacks are included. The student must be at least 10 years old and able to handle some specialised jewellery hand tools. Each workshop class has no more than 5 students, ensuring the teaching time is very much one on one. There is a minimum requirement of 3 students before a workshop will proceed. Cancellation Policy
Cancellations prior to first lesson will incur a 15% fee. Payment is non refundable after commencement of class, but is transferable to another term. Missed classes may be made up by prior arrangement only if there is another class vacancy. Classes cancelled by the teacher will be either added on at the end of term or the next convenient day available to all students.
